Very Unusual Antique Come-along restraint device for sale, not handcuffs

$1,500.00

For Sale: Very Unusual Antique Come-along restraint device, not handcuffs.

This is an unknown nipper restraint.

It's heavy and it's got some unusual mechanical operations,,

Each of the catch arms is released into a neutral downward pointing direction by a turn of the levers on the face.

The pressure plate can be tightened down onto the wrist with the knurled wheel and that in turn can be released by the spring button up higher along the curve of the handle. The handle can be rotated.

The item came with a brief description of the operation.

I have never seen a Come-along like this.

The manufacturing indicates late 1800's early 1900's

My assumption is it may be Dutch only because that's where I got it from.

There are no markings that I can see.
