This is a rare and exciting chance to own a matched set of Bean Cobb Handcuffs and Leg Irons pat.1899 with an original key!
At the end of the 1800s Spiritualism was growing and certain mediums learned and exploited a particular weakness in the design of the new at the time patented Bean Cobb handcuffs.
During this time and while traveling across the country by wagon and train a young magician was searching for anything that might bring him fame. While working and studying mediums, he came upon this type of handcuff and quickly incorporated it into his act, that young magician's name? Harry Houdini.
This is a great set of the handcuffs and leg irons and they both work perfectly and are each stamped Pat May 2, 1899
The cuffs are in excellent working condition and come with the key!
