For Sale: Very Excellent pair of Houdini Fave TOWER PINKERTON DETECTIVE HANDCUFFS EARLY 1ST MODEL ca. 1887
[This set is in unusually nice smooth finish condition with sharp unused edges]
Rare early 1st model of the famous Pinkerton handcuffs manufactured by Towers and sold as Tower's Detective Lightweight Handcuffs.
Houdini loved these, in fact in his book Handcuff Secrets 1909 he mentions these and says out of all the handcuffs to open these are the lot (meaning easy) He used these on many of his early Police station challenges.
The first model featured 3 chain links, the later more common model featured a single oval link.
This cuff is in excellent plus condition. The edges are sharp indicating very little to possibly no use. They come with a working key.
