Bean Cobb 1899 Handcuffs w/key
The Bean was a wildly successful handcuff patent because it was one of the first to offer a way for the handcuff to remain unlocked while in the Policeman's pocket or desk only locking when the lock retardation button was pushed allowing the handcuffs to be placed upon the criminal's hands and remain locked. Up until this time, it was a laborious and dangerous few moments while the Policeman had to manually unlock the handcuffs opening them to put on the prisoner's wrist.
This was so revolutionary that this model lead to most other makers adopting a version of the feature and this model cuff was made in huge numbers and even used in surplus during the WW2. The other feature that made this cuff so well used as it had a removable lock that could actually be taken out for service.
The handcuffs retain approx. 60% of their original nickel plating
The handcuffs are in very good mechanical condition, locks work
The handcuffs come with a working key.
